Building a Survivors’ Network To Address Covid Concerns Covid Care Network

Having been associated with all digital deliverables for West Bengal Department of Health since the dawn of the coronavirus pandemic, Brandsum was approached by a team of doctors, closely associated with the formation of a support group for and by the COVID-19 affected, to build an online platform that would help connect and bring patients and care providers together.

The brief:

The universal lockdown had limited mobility and the only way to extend help to those affected by the pandemic was to build an online platform for COVID-19 winners and doctors highlighting a 24/7 Helpline for support. It was to be a one-of-a-kind network for the COVID-19 affected to connect with doctors, winners and social activists for receiving or providing medical consultations and psycho-social support and assistance through experts of different disciplines.

Challenge

Brandsum was given the task to design, develop and make the website live by July 1st, National Doctor’s Day, which meant the agency had 4-5 days at hand to deliver.

Strategy

Over a quick discussion with the doctors and members of Covid Care Network, the team at Brandsum started work on a comprehensive single page website that highlights the toll free Helpline Number and captures the data of new members. Along with educating visitors on different services like counselling, donations, risk-stratification, hospitalization, ambulance services and triage medical care provided.

Execution

The team at Brandsum designed the custom web page in Laravel, HTML5, CSS3 with Bootstrap4 to make the site responsive and MySQL for easy database access. Continuous A/B testing was done on the platform. Brandsum chalked out a plan to disburse the content flow smoothly, starting with creating a wireframe that easily lets users access the Helpline and refer to the services provided. The team suggested to include a quick action form on the landing page for visitors to choose how they want to be a part of the Covid Care Network. An automated Email response system was integrated at both ends where applicants and members will be notified each time a submission is received.

Results

Even working remotely, the team at Brandsum managed to launch the platform on the promised date, 1st of July, National Doctor’s Day. Being a one-of-a-kind network for support for those affected by the dreaded coronavirus, the news of platform and helpline going live received national media attention, with the concept and execution applauded by the doctors and eminent members of the society all over.
